Irish Texas Throw
Over 3 million people in Texas to have Celtic heritage. The Irish immigrants who came to Texas helped establish cities, build the railroads, and fight for Texas independence. Of those who died defending the Alamo in 1836, 12 were Irish-born. 100 Irish-born soldiers fought in the battle of San Jacinto, representing about one-seventh of the total fighting force of Texans.
These items, designed by a fifth-generation Texan, honor the Irish immigrants who helped make Texas what it is today. The symbols of the Emerald Isle are combined with those of the great State of Texas. Irish shamrocks and Texas bluebonnets represent the natural beauty of both lands, while the Lone Star of Texas and the Irish Harp both symbolize the independent spirit of the people.
The 100% cotton throws measure a generous 64 x 54 inches.
